Use this guide as you navigate the endless fun Steamboat has to offer.
Friday, April 3: Kicking off the weekend
When Friday rolls around, the fun is just about to begin. Make sure to grab some spring skiing attire at local shops like Urbane for vibrant accessories, or F.M. Light and Sons for a western flair.
Take a few afternoon laps on the mountain and enjoy the fresh mountain air and soft snow. The best part about spring at Steamboat Resort is chasing sunshine and good vibes, so make sure to pack your sunscreen and greet fellow skiers and riders with a smile.
After your day on the mountain, check out the base area for one of the best après experiences in Colorado. Grab a seat on Slopeside Grill’s outdoor patio to soak in the sun, or get your groove on at The Range Food & Drink Hall, where a live DJ plays from 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. every Thursday through Monday.
Finish the night with dinner in downtown Steamboat Springs. You’ll find plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating options, like Salt & Lime or Aurum Food & Wine.
Saturday, April 4: Catch iconic events and live music
Start early with a perfect breakfast from WildPlum Eatery, then make your way to the base of the mountain for some morning runs.
Make sure to stick around the base area for the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series, when The Sweet Lillies will take the Steamboat Stage at 3:30 p.m.
For dinner, step away from the mountain to enjoy an incredible dining experience next to the Yampa River at E3 Chophouse or Besame. Don’t forget to check out downtown Steamboat’s lively nightlife scene, including live music at Schmigitty’s Live Music & Dance Bar.
Sunday, April 5: Closing out the winter season
Finish the season strong with breakfast at Gondola Joe’s at Thunderhead Lodge, where you can take a few moments to enjoy the vast views of the Yampa Valley and beyond while sipping on your morning coffee.
After taking a few laps on the mountain, head down to Rendevous Lodge for the Splashdown Pond Skim at 11 a.m. This rowdy event features skiers and riders gliding across a pond in colorful summer attire like floral shirts, swimsuits, and retro gear, attempting to make it to the other side.
Finally, take a load off at the end of the day at one of Routt County’s famous hot springs, like Old Town Hot Springs or Strawberry Park, where you’ll find rejuvenation and relaxation after a busy weekend of celebrations.
