Routt County Museums
Hayden Heritage Center
Located in the historic Moffat Railroad Depot Building since 1972, the Museum (established in 1964) has exhibits on local area history from cowboying and homesteading to coal mining and farming. Experience the authenticity of the homesteaders and the lives they carved out in this rugged corner of Northwest Colorado. The Museum is home to the Leslie Memorial Research Library, a fantastic resource for research whether it is subject-based or genealogical. Learn more here.
Moffat County Museums
Wyman Museum is the result of years of collecting beginning in 1949 when Lou Wyman discovered an abandoned 1932 Lincoln automobile in Elk Springs, Colorado, while he was filling water barrels to take to his sheepherders. He has gathered an absolutely unique collection from throughout the west and beyond. His assortment of items gives museum guests an experience spanning one hundred years of American life, ingenuity, and advancement. Located in Craig, this museum is full of curiosities!
