Ride the scenic gondola at Steamboat Resorts

Scenic Gondola Rides

If you aren’t into skiing or riding but still want to take in some of the best sights we have to offer, opt for a scenic ride on the newly remodeled gondola. The 8-person gondola will take you to Thunderhead Lodge where you can take photos, walk around on the snow, and visit some of the dining options available, all while enjoying the panoramic views of the Yampa Valley.  Once you’re done up top, hop on the gondola and enjoy the ride back down to the base area. More info on Steamboat Ski Resort gondola rides can be found here

If you are looking for something more active that the whole family can enjoy, try snowshoeing at the resort. Snowshoes allow you to access beautiful terrain and trails that even skiers can’t reach. You can explore on your own or participate in a guided tour with a resort ambassador. The tour is free, although you do need to purchase a gondola footpass to access the lifts. Showshoe rentals are available at many of the gear shops in town or at the Steamboat Sports at Gondola Square location at the base of the mountain. Check out the snowshoe trail map and visit here for more information.
