Hiking, biking, and tubing are only a few ways summer is enjoyed in Steamboat Springs. We also have a downtown filled with rooftops, patios, and tables next to the river to enjoy some discounted drinks and treats. Summer happy hours in Steamboat Springs are set in some of the most unique and scenic spots you’ll find. Go to happy hour here and you may end up at a ski lodge on the mountain, next to the flowing Yampa River, or even with live music on a patio downtown. Here are some of our favorite happy hours to take in scenic views, sunny weather, and some of the best bites around.
SCENIC HAPPY HOURS
There are so many beautiful places to enjoy mountain scenery while sipping cocktails. One of the best ways to get up high while enjoying live music, views, and treats is Steamboat Resort’s Sunset Happy Hour at Thunderhead Lodge, happening most Thursdays and Sundays from 5 to 8PM. Happy hours are free for Ikon pass holders and $30 for non-pass holders, which includes a scenic ride on the gondola to the full bar and food up top.
If downtown is more your vibe, Salt & Lime and Aurum Food & Wine both offer great views from their patios. Salt & Lime has a rooftop where you can soak up the sun while enjoying margaritas, guac, and queso to die for. Aurum, on the other hand, offers a nice lounge setting next to the Yampa River so you can listen to the river flowing while you order some crisp white wine or a cold draft beer.
LIVE MUSIC HAPPY HOURS
If you’re looking to relax with some music during happy hour, we recommend Laundry’s live music Thursday’s on their patio, starting at 5PM. They also offer a midday soiree every day from 2:30 to 4:30PM so get a spot early and indulge in their unique and hand-crafted cocktails.
Slopeside is a great option for those looking to enjoy a mountain “beach”. Happy hour takes place right outside of the restaurant from 3 to 6PM daily and on Friday you can expect to catch live music from 4 to 6PM. For happy hour or events updates, follow them at @slopesidegrillsteamboat!
