The summer events lineup in the Boat is filling up, and we’ve got the inside scoop on all the fun! From our signature events that are quintessential Steamboat to new events on the block, learn about everything Steamboat has to offer this season.

SIGNATURE EVENTS

The events season kicks of this weekend with the 40th Anniversary Steamboat Marathon race taking place June 6! Marathon and 10K runners will be celebrating downtown as our community welcomes back in-person events. Our 4th of July Celebration is also getting ready to take place along with the Pro Rodeo Series that kicks off July 1. A fan favorite, the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Glow, will take to the skies July 10-11, with new viewing areas for you to enjoy the sights.

CULINARY

We can’t wait to taste the culinary events rolling into town this summer. Reds, Whites, and Brews will officially kick off summer in the mountains with wine and craft beer tastings, food vendors, and more in downtown on June 26. OktoberWest returns in a new location this summer bringing the same beloved events including a beer stroll and garden on September 11. Finally, you don’t want to miss the Steamboat Food and Wine Festival taking place at various locations around town from September 23-26.

LIVE MUSIC

It’s time to start grooving again this summer with a series of live music events taking place. New this summer: Snow Bowl Music Fest! This series of concerts kicks off on June 25 and continues every Friday night through August 27. Every Wednesday starting June 30, the Yampa River Botanic Park is hosting Music on the Green, a free concert series in their park. Strings Music Festival also has a full lineup of artists and performers scheduled this summer with tickets available on sale now. See their schedule here.

ARTS & CULTURE

Join us for the first Farmer’s Market taking place June 5 (and continuing every Saturday after) and shop for fresh food and products from local makers and vendors. Opera Steamboat is presenting a brand-new Frida Kahlo's Garden exhibit from June 18 - August 11 that will have multiple pieces: an art exhibition at Steamboat Creates and a garden installation at the botanic park. Don’t forget the annual Art in the Park taking place July 10 - 11 at the West Lincoln Park with 150+ artists and vendors. The Steamboat Art Museum will host the 2021 Plein Air event from September 17-24 showcasing the beauty of the Yampa Valley. The Yampa Valley Crane Festival also returns this summer September 2-5 and takes place in Steamboat Springs and Hayden. RECREATION

It wouldn’t be a Steamboat summer without a little outdoor adventure thrown in! The annual Yampa River Fest will kick off the summer June 4-5 and will celebrate and raise awareness about the wild river with events that include kayaking, rafting and more. Interesting in something more relaxing? Check out the Yoga on the Green every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Botanic Gardens. Switching gears to biking, the non-competitive cycling event, Tour de Steamboat, is back offering four different routes for riders of all ages and abilities on July 17. The Honey Stinger Emerald Mountain Epic is getting ready to host its first in-person mountain bike and trail race on August 7-8, following by the sold-out SBT GRVL bike race on August 15. Finally, check out the Run Rabbit Run 50 and 100-mile ultra-marathons taking place along the Continental Divide September 17-18.
