A dry summer here in Steamboat led to a nearly month-long fire ban in Routt County.  However, due to recent rains, like the showers we had last night, the fire ban that was put in effect on July 10th was lifted this morning much to the relief of Routt County camping enthusiasts.

I have been dying to go camping all summer and I am so excited that the fire ban has been lifted.  There is still plenty of time left in the summer and lots of great camping and backpacking spots that I cannot wait to explore.  We love our forests here in Routt County and don’t want to burn them down, so it is important to respect the fire bans.  But it is always exciting when you’re able to relax in the great outdoors around a campfire.
