Steamboat Marathon
June 7, 2026
Course Maps
Marathon and Half Marathon Information
10K Run and Walk Information
Entry Limit: No Limit
This SATF Certified course begins and ends at the courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs.
The 10K starts on 5th Street and heads northeast up 5th Street to Maple Street, then heads north on Amethyst Drive past the Steamboat Springs Middle School to Strawberry Park Road. Here you will take a right onto Strawberry Park Road, until you reach the aid station.
Follow County Road #36 also known as Strawberry Park Road to North Park back towards town. Take a right at Missouri Street then a left onto 7th Street, a right onto Pine Street, left onto 11th Street and a final left onto Lincoln Avenue to the finish.
Time Standard
The official course time limit for the Steamboat Marathon is 5 hours and 30 minutes, which is a run/walk pace of at least 12 minutes and 30 seconds per mile.
The race starts at 7:30 am, and the course closes at 1:00 pm. This policy is strictly enforced for runner safety. Between increasing weather temperatures and vehicle traffic, runner safety is our top priority.
If a participant’s pace falls below the course time limit, they have a few options:
- Increase pace to stay within the minimum designated marathon pace (12:30).
- Board the official SAG (support and gear) vehicle to be transported to the finish line.
- If the participant cannot or chooses not to continue, the SAG vehicle will move them to the next available Medical Station, where they can be transported to the finish, or give them a ride directly to the finish line.
- Comply with the designated cut-off locations outlined below.
- Race services, aid stations, and traffic control will not be provided on the course after 1:00 p.m. An early start is not available. If you’re unable to run the full marathon in less than 5 hours and 30 minutes, please register for the half-marathon.
To ensure we stay within the city-approved timeline and prioritize the safety of all participants, we will be implementing four (4) official cut-off points throughout the race.
Cut-Off #1
Approx. Mile 12.8
Address: Mile 13
Time: 10:30 am
Cut-off #2
Approx. Mile 17.8
Address: Christina Campground
Time: 11:45 am
Cut-off #3
Approx. Mile 22.4
Address: Josie Schroeder
Time: 12:15 pm
Cut-off #4
Approx. Mile 24.5 and any remaining runners on the course will be transported to the finish line.
Address: Steamboat Vet
Time: 1:15 pm
Again, these cut-off times are in place for runner safety. We understand that you have trained hard. Race services, aid stations, and traffic control will not be provided on the course after 5 hours and 30 minutes. An early start is not available. If you’re unable to run the full marathon in less than 5 hours and 30 minutes, please register for the half-marathon.
