I grew up coming to Steamboat Springs as my family’s favorite vacation destination; little did I know that someday I would not only call the Yampa Valley home and deepen my love affair with this place, but also stumble upon a companion of my own. Steamboat Springs can be an unforgettable romantic getaway destination through any season, with many options for things to do and places to go with your sweetheart.

My ideal winter getaway includes a morning of chasing my significant other down the slopes of Steamboat Ski Area, followed by lunch at the top of the gondola at Hazie’s.

After a rest and recharge the evening would lead to a cozy, moonlit sleigh ride dinner at Haymaker Golf Course. I snuggle up on the horse-drawn sleigh riding blissfully through the rolling hills of the valley followed by a gourmet dinner.

How could you not feel absolutely blissful in the most colorful time of year in the Yampa Valley? Fall is a quiet but magical time of year in Steamboat. My favorite thing to do with my other half is take a drive up Buffalo Pass and walk down to the edge of Fish Creek Reservoir. Another fun afternoon activity is taking a bicycle ride on the Yampa River Core Trail after lunch at one of the many charming restaurants downtown, my favorite being Creekside Café where you can eat breakfast or lunch until about 3 p.m. every day. The best way to end your day is out in the crisp autumn air watching the orange tinted sun set over the golden valley.
Whatever the season or the reason for your visit, the beauty and allure of Steamboat Springs is sure to be an unforgettable way to spend some quality time appreciating your loved one.
