A few days of warm weather and two successful weekends of free outdoor concerts are enough to get anyone excited about sunny days to come.
Over Mardi Gras weekend, Sam Bush and JoJo Herman fronted bands playing to dancing crowds, with Bush covering the bluegrass bases on Friday and Herman bringing New Orleans funk to the fore on Saturday. Sam Bush got the crowd going with a fiery fiddle solo on a heel-stomping bluegrass tune.
The ski area’s Mardi Gras celebration, which included performances by Bush and Herman, concluded Tuesday with a snow sculpture contest and other festivities.
With four more days of Bud Light Rocks the Boat left in the season, there are several opportunities to catch live, outdoor music before the mountain closes. The concert series runs through closing day, April 10, with these bands remaining on the schedule:
- Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, March 19 - John Popper and the Duskray Troubadours, March 26 - Los Lonely Boys, April 2 - The Wailers and Katchafire, April 10
