Days like yesterday remind me of why I am living in the mountains. I had an early morning meeting scheduled at the Lake Catamount Lake House about fifteen minutes from town. My morning drive is never as beautiful as it was driving to this meeting. It is very peaceful driving out in the country. All the hay has been bailed; the cows were grazing in the pastures; and I arrived at the Lake House to a gentle mist rising off the warm lake water.
Spending time outside of town for a morning, nestled beneath Rabbit Ears Pass and gazing at magnificent views of the Lake with the morning sunshine made me take a deep breath and say, “This is what mountain living is all about.”
During the summer months Catamount Ranch & Club offers the premier golf experience in the Yampa Valley. During the winter the Lake Catamount Touring Center opens its doors to those looking for a great cross-country skiing experience. By the way the Lake Catamount Touring Center is the only local touring center to allow dogs!
