I’m always looking for fun activities to due in the winter here in Steamboat and was excited to discover the Howelsen Ice Arena is open all year long! I remember when I was a little girl taking figure skating lessons the pure joy I felt gliding across the freshly zambonied ice and watching as my shiny, silver blades left behind delicate patterns as I practiced my spins over and over until they were perfect.

The best thing about the sport of ice skating is that it can be enjoyed by people of any age! Howelsen Ice Arena provides a fun Learn to Skate program for adults and youth to get them off on the right foot. It is also home to the Steamboat Springs Figure Skating Club, the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association as well as the Steamboat Springs High School “Sailors” Hockey team. Additionally, there are several adult hockey leagues for both men and women to participate in.

Looking to just have a fun day of free skating?  The rink also has pubic skating and equipment rentals as well as season passes.
