There are few things that surprise me during my morning commute. However last week as I soared down Mt. Werner Road (making great time I might add) I stopped dead in my tracks. The Meadows parking lot had transformed over night into a colorful maze of rides, games, tents and exotic food carts. Could it be true? Had Carnival come to Steamboat Springs? Yes, in fact, it had. I cleared my evening calendar and called my boyfriend, we had a date with the Carnival. What a blast, I can’t remember the last time I had something as unhealthy and equally delicious as funnel cake. We waited in line for rides and played the best ‘carnie’ games. The best part about carnival is that you never go home empty-handed. I am now the proud owner of the cutest little stuffed penguin. What’s next for Steamboat, Cirque Du Soleil? A girl can dream.
