Spring has finally arrived in Steamboat Springs, and that means it is time stow the ski gear and tune up the bicycles.  Whether your biking plans include scenic tours, challenging hill climbs or downhill thrills, there is something for you in Bike Town, USA this summer.

The season kicks off with Bike Week 2016 offering a line-up of racing, touring, bike clinics and social events that will appeal to every style of rider.  A Bike Week visit is a great way to experience biking in Steamboat.  Here is the list of Bike Week events:

All Week long – June 13-19

  • Discount bike rental and downhill lessons at Steamboat Bike Park

Monday, June 13

  • Moots Factory Tour – get a first-hand look at the making of world-class bikes – 10 a.m.

Tuesday, June 14

  • Steamboat Ski and Bike Kare Women’s Group Mountain Bike Ride – riders of all levels - 5:45 p.m.

Wednesday, June 15

  • Moots Factory Tour – get a first-hand look at the making of world-class bikes – 10 a.m.
  • Bike Town Classic Mountain Bike Race on Emerald Mountain - open to all ages and ability levels – click here for Town Challenge race times

Thursday, June 16

  • USA BMX Local Points Race – Catch the fast-paced, high-flying action of BMX racing at Howelsen Hill – time TBA
  • Gravity Girls Women’s Downhill Clinic at Steamboat Bike Park – 5 p.m.

Friday, June 17

  • Steamboat CycleArt – art auction event benefitting Bike Town USA and the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund – auction pieces by local artists, inspired by cycling or made of bikes or bike parts – 6:30 p.m. – more information can be found here.

Saturday, June 18

  • Moots Colorado Ranch Rally – 50-mile scenic tour over gravel roads through local ranch country – learn more about this great ride here.
  • Farmers Market Bike Polo Tournament – great spectator event during the Farmer’s Market (9 a.m.-2 p.m.). Tournament from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Bike-in Movie Night at Gondola Square – feature film for all ages on a giant screen at the base of Steamboat Bike Park. Concessions open at 8 p.m., film at 8:45 p.m.

Sunday, June 19

  • Bike Town Father’s Day at Howelsen Hill – kids' skills clinic with Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club bike coaches; guided adult road and trail rides with Routt County Riders; both events include Bike Town post-ride snacks for all participants. 9:30 a.m.
