About the Economic Development Council
The Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council provides community input to economic development activities. Comprised of leaders from the business community, city and county government, and local educational institutions, the Council acts as a catalyst for economic development by providing leadership, economic information and programs that encourage a strong business climate and culture of entrepreneurship.
The Council supports creation of a healthy, vibrant and diverse economy, while applying sound stewardship to the human and natural resources that make the Yampa Valley such a special place to live, work, and play.
Committee Structure
The EDC represents a cross-section of the local economy, with members from sectors including technology, real estate and finance, outdoor recreation products, construction, tourism, healthcare, education, agriculture, arts and culture and the non-profit sector. EDC task forces focus on business education, communications and business development. Meetings are generally held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Historic Routt County Courthouse in the Commissioner's Hearing Room at 8:00 a.m.
