Iconic Rabbit Ears Pass is a winter recreation destination. There are two parking areas, serving two different recreation users: East Summit is open to motorized recreation and the West Summit is open to non-motorized users. Both areas are managed by the Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District.

Things to keep in mind when you visit

This area is popular, and the parking area often fills up in early morning, especially on weekends and powder days. No overnight parking.

Cell service is limited. Know the area, your plans and your limits before you set out.

From Steamboat Springs: Travel east on US Hwy 40. West Summit is 14 miles up, East Summit lot is 20 miles up.
