Things to keep in mind when you visit 

This area is popular, and the parking areas often fill up in early morning, especially on weekends and powder days. If the Columbine Parking lot is full, overflow parking is available at the Marina Parking Lot at Steamboat Lake State Park.  A $9 day pass is required to park in the State Park.  

No overnight parking. Overnight camping with electrical hook-ups is available in the Steamboat Lake State Park Marina Parking lot with camping permits.  

Cell service is limited and some areas have no service.

Directions

From Steamboat Springs: Go west on US Hwy 40 to County Road 129. Parking lot is at the junction of 129 and 550 roads.
