Steamboat’s most exciting summer attraction, The Howler Alpine Slide, is fun for the entire family. Enjoy scenic views of downtown Steamboat Springs as you ride a chairlift to the top of historic Howelsen Hill. Grab a sled at the top of the lift, and you are in control of your exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400-foot track through the bends and curves of the natural landscape of beautiful Howelsen Hill. Single rides and full-day passes are available, as well as scenic chairlift ride only tickets.
Proceeds from The Howler Alpine Slide benefit Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes.

- Directions: The Howler Alpine Slide is located at 645 Howelsen Parkway, in downtown Steamboat Springs. We are just across the Yampa River from downtown in the Howelsen Hill park complex next to the rodeo grounds and the Howelsen Hill Ski Area. From Lincoln Avenue (US Hwy 40) in downtown, take 5th Street down the hill and across the river and train tracks. Turn right just after the tracks onto Howelsen Parkway. Then turn left at the stop sign by the tennis courts. Parking is available along this road and you will see the yurt by the base of the chairlift where you can pick up ride tickets.
