Overview
Advocates was incorporated in December 1983. The grassroots beginnings of the organization were initiated by the Routt County District Attorney’s office. Initial services included 24-hour crisis response by volunteers and the director. Through the years services were expanded as gaps in services presented in the community. A sexual assault program was initiated in 1985 and outreach services expanded in the following years to include a prevention programming, criminal justice advocacy, 24/7 crisis line and a residential shelter. Services: 24-hour crisis response for victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, or teen dating violence, Residential Shelter, Personal Advocacy, Support Groups, Criminal Justice Advocacy, Civil Protection Order Assistance, Education/Awareness Presentations.
