The Steamboat Springs Chamber is partnering with the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council to encourage local businesses to go green.
Over 25 businesses are currently registered in YVSC’s Colorado Green Business Network of the Yampa Valley, and over 15 of these green businesses are Chamber members. The Chamber will be celebrating the efforts of these members and other local businesses at YVSC’s Business Leadership for Climate Community Celebration on Sept. 17, from noon-1:30 p.m. in Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library. The event is free to the public, but registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
The community celebration, hosted by YVSC, will wrap up a year-long workshop series that provided education on the Colorado Green Business Network of the Yampa Valley program. The series, attended by local organizations and community leaders, included sessions focused on earning points for state-level recognition and funding opportunities to make office spaces and operations more sustainable.
Yampa Valley businesses have an opportunity to position themselves as climate leaders and take actions that are good for business and the community. The community celebration will be an opportunity for organizations to learn more about the program and how to get started.
Those interested in joining the celebration can register online. For further information, contact Program Manager Ashley Dean at ashley@yvsc.org.
