The Leadership Steamboat Class of 2024-2025 has commissioned a mural to support mental health awareness and local non-profit Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide.

Called the Hope Mural, the mural is being painted at the underpass on the Core Trail by the skate park at Howelsen Hill.

“We chose mental health awareness as our class project because we wanted to create something lasting and visible that could spark conversation, reduce stigma and show our community that it’s okay to talk about mental health,” said Leadership Steamboat Class of 2024-2025 graduate Olympia von Berg in a statement.

Leadership Steamboat is an annual program for emerging local leaders in the workforce to develop personal leadership skills and further expand involvement within the Steamboat Springs community.

Each year, the class chooses a group project that benefits a local cause or organization. This year’s class is proud to present the Hope Mural and spark meaningful conversations around mental health in Steamboat.

“We partnered with a local artist for the mural, and we believe this further emphasizes how this project is about connection, community, healing and reminding people they’re not alone,” von Berg continued.
