Steamboat Springs Workforce Center

The Steamboat Workforce Center offers free services to both employers and job seekers. Employer services include, but are not limited to, applicant screening and referrals, recruitment assistance, labor market information, on-the-job training, reimbursement, workshops, information on tax credits and layoff assistance. For job seekers, it is a one-stop location for job training and placement assistance. 


Colorado Mountain College

Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center

The Steamboat Springs campus of Colorado Mountain College offers many services through the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center, including business plan advising, seminars for business growth and success, and free and confidential business counseling. YVEC is a great first stop if you’re starting a business.

Yampa Valley SCORE

The local office of SCORE, a program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, offers free, confidential counseling to entrepreneurs and small business owners in an office space at the CMC Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center. The Yampa Valley office has a roster of highly experienced business professionals in such areas as business planning, marketing, organizational issues and finance. The SCORE national website has a toolkit of business information and resources, such as templates for spreadsheets for forecasting and budgeting.

Affordable Office Space for Start-ups

The Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center offers low cost, business incubator office space for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The service includes a small office space, copy center, high-speed Internet, meeting rooms, SCORE business counseling and access to college campus amenities.

CMC Business Courses

The Colorado Mountain College campus at Steamboat Springs offers courses in business skills such as accounting, Quickbooks and entrepreneurial operations. CMC also offers a certificate program in entrepreneurship, an associate degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Local businesses have access to a wide variety of financing sources, including local banks, alternative funding sources and other loan programs.


Sales Tax Laws

Young Professionals Network

The Young Professionals Network is an organization established through the Steamboat Chamber that brings together motivated individuals and offers opportunities to grow professionally. Through local business networking, professional development and community involvement, the group helps young professionals who may come for a ski season to prosper in their business lives so they might stay for a lifetime.


Steamboat Library

The Bud Werner Memorial Library is a modern, spacious facility frequented by entrepreneurs to conduct business appointments in a free meeting room, work from the free high-speed wifi connection, or research full-text articles from 2,500 online journals and 15 business and economic-related databases. The library has reference librarians, a large magazine collection, frequent cultural and educational programs, and E-books and audio books for mobile readers and listeners.
