Travis moved to the Yampa Valley in 2003 seeking the mountain lifestyle and its endless opportunity for outdoor recreation. Originally from New England, and a Bates College graduate, Travis quickly fell in love with the easy-going rhythm of mountain living and the embedded supportive community. He chose Steamboat over other mountain towns because of its friendly western charm and that it is home to a world class ski resort. Travis started his career path as a ski instructor in the winter and transitioned to guiding biking, fishing, and rafting trips in the summers, until recently.
In 2016, Travis and his wife purchased their first home, a small cabin just outside of town. Unfortunately, they lost the structure due to fire before they had even moved in. Quickly transitioning to a plan B, they were fortunate to rebuild the structure with Travis as the general contractor, which further ignited his passion for architecture, construction, and real estate.
On his days off, Travis enjoys all of the activities that Steamboat living has to offer. Skiing, rafting, fly-fishing, and mountain biking are some of his favorites, but he also enjoys Nordic skiing and hiking on a mellow afternoon. Like most homeowners, Travis is always working on a dozen custom projects in various stages, but spending time at home keeps him inspired and grateful.
Combining his knowledge of the area, experience in construction, and his creative approach to real estate, Travis is dedicated to helping others find a place to call home in the Yampa Valley while keeping his clients inspired in the process.
Travis was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the entire Steamboat market. As our locational interest evolved, Travis narrowed down the search for a house and provided us with numerous options to consider. The journey to acquire a mountain home is so different than a primary home and without Travis' expertise we would never have been able to make an informed decision and close on a house.
I would 100% recommend working with Tavis Crooke. Travis was knowledgeable, honest and most importantly listened well. Moreover, he was efficient and quick to respond and or get back to us with answers. Travis is professional and courteous and someone we enjoyed working with. Finally, we believe he had our best interest at heart. Alan and Dana Feit
Travis did an outstanding job on the sale of our home. He explained and was with us every step of the way. As our escrow extended he keep the deal moving and made sure the close went smoothly. We would certainly recommend him to anyone wanting the best of both professional and personal service.
Travis has a great understanding of the Steamboat market as well as insight into individual condo complexes, properties, and the endless possibilities that each listing could provide. He adroitly matches this with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to get to know you and your needs. He always gave an honest opinion based on this depth of knowledge and my preferences and as a result I felt like a dear friend rather than a client. He is responsive with questions and is great at walking anyone through the process and documents in a way that improved my understanding of the home buying and selling process tremendously. His enthusiasm to help you with whatever your dream home might be translates into the work ethic and solution based mindset any buyer or seller would benefit from.
Travis was extremely helpful and informative during the entire process.
Attentive and thoughtful.
Thank you, Travis for your help. You did a great job. Best wishes for the holiday season.
Very through and honest, made sure we understood every document and every part of the process. When he didn't know something he told us he didn't know and went above and beyond to find the information we needed. Great to work with!
Great job!
It was a pleasure working with Travis, he was always positive and seemed to have a great understanding of the local real estate market.
