Chamber Bucks e-gift card Merchant Program
Supporting local businesses is a top priority for the Chamber, and a shop local gift card program is a great way to do that. Our new digital gift card, powered by Yiftee, is an evolution of our gift card program that locals and visitors alike can purchase to spend at local participating businesses.
Why is the Chamber changing gift card systems?
Users of the previous program have told us they’d like a more efficient system that is easier to use for both card recipients and businesses that accept the cards. Our new program will allow us to do this more efficiently and will eliminate many of the issues we have seen in recent years with gift cards.
- Users get monthly reminders of the balance to encourage people to use the cards
- The e-gift cards work better with merchants' retail technology
- There is a faster response time with questions or issues
How does the new gift card work?
The new gift card is a digital card. Purchasers select the value of the gift card, choose the recipient (family, friends, team members) and we’ll send the electronic card via email or text message. The recipient can use that value to make purchases at participating businesses.
How is the digital gift card redeemed?
The card is keyed in manually into a business’ POS or terminal systems as a credit card. It cannot be swiped.
How does my business receive payment for certificates redeemed?
The program will reimburse participating businesses 100% face value of the currency. The Steamboat Springs Chamber will send payment to participating businesses by ACH within two weeks of certificates’ redemption. Businesses do not need to request payment, as the system will track when certificates are redeemed.
5 Simple Steps to get your business started
1) EMAIL Angelica Salinas to get set up.
2) RUN THE “ACTIVATION CARD” as a digital Mastercard on your POS to join.
3) ADVERTISE the Chamber Bucks by putting a link on your website to sell more.
4) REDEEM GIFT CARDS as customers come in with a Chamber Bucks card on their phone (or printed).
5) GET PAID as usual by your Mastercard bank. Mastercard will authorize the purchases.
