As a Colorado native, a long-time property owner in the Elk River Valley, a mother of three sons and a Real Estate Broker since 2000, she is passionate about what she does, where she lives and the community she is proud to call home.
She remains on a continual journey of education, networking, referrals, and professional development. Her most recent accomplishment is obtaining her certification for Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE). She is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and in her real estate career has received several top honors for sales performance. She is currently pursuing the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) certification with an emphasis in the sales and development of our most precious resource: the land!
In her previous career, Karen was a land surveyor for ten years which afforded her vast experience in understanding the various areas of the county.Owning a ranch has also given her the background in agriculture aspects including mineral and water rights. Karen has also been involved with several historic transactions, some notably the “iconic” More Barn located off of Pine Grove Road which is now part of the open space & park in the “Barn Village Development”. This barn is perhaps one of the most famous barns in the ski and board world. She was involved in the sale of the Hazie Werner homewhere Olympian skiers Buddy and Skeeter Werner were raised in Old Town Steamboat.Out west, she was involved with the Hereford Haven Ranch transaction which is one of the premier Hereford ranches in the early days of Routt County. Karen enjoys the history of this valley and its people and has been active in assisting the Routt County Historic Society where ever she can.
