Meet Dr. Ronit Berdugo - The new integrative house call vet in town!
Dr. Berdugo’s inspiration for becoming a vet came from volunteering with exotic felines at an animal sanctuary in South Florida. Upon graduating from Ross University in 2001, she completed an internship both at the Audubon Zoo and Audubon Aquarium in New Orlean, La. Following that, she moved back to South Florida where she worked both at a small animal day practice, as well as night shifts at an Animal ER. Approximately 3 years after graduating, she went back to school and became certified in Chinese Acupuncture from the Chi University. Furthermore, she received her animal rehabilitation or PT training from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. Having learned these additional skills, she decided to start an integrative house call practice in 2005. Prior to the move to Colorado, she and her family also developed a bee farm, where they harvested and sold honey. They also had a small collection of farm animals that were part of a series of educational and recreational programs for kids. After living in Key West for 20 years, she and her family decided to trade in the ocean for the mountains. Dr. Berdugo has a husband Eric, and 2 kids Jonah and Tess. Their pets include Scout (a Doberman Pinscher), and Cheeky and Cous Cous (an adorable pair of stinky ferrets).
Dr. Berdugo is a member of the AVMA, AHVMA, and CVMA.
