Northwest Rocky Mountain CASA (NWRM CASA) is a non-profit that serves the youth of Routt, Moffat and Grand counties. A CASA (court appointed special advocate) is a citizen who is trained to be the voice in Court for an abused or neglected child. CASA programs are National volunteer programs based on the belief that every child deserves a safe and permanent home. Through regular contact with the child and access to the adults and professionals in the child's life, the CASA is able to make recommendations to the Court to assist in expediting the permanency process. CASAs work with social workers, Guardian Ad Litems, therapists, teachers, etc. CASAs work with one case at a time so they are able to focus their attention on the children for whom they are advocating.
