    Fridays at noon in July and August at the Tread of Pioneers Museum - 800 Oak St. Each one-hour program features a lecture topic that reveals the unique history of our area presented by the locals who lived it.

    July 19: "Mineral Springs and Subsurface Windows to the Past: Understanding the Hydrogeology of Steamboat Springs." Presented by Hydrologist - Groundwater Specialist at the Colorado Water Science Center for U.S. Geological Survey, Connor Newman.

    July 26: “Routt County’s Historic Barns,” with Arianthe’ Stettner. Plus a special presentation by the Delectable Mountain Quilters Guild on their 30th Anniversary mini quilts featuring local barns, on display at the museum.

    Aug. 2: "Yampa Valley Agriculture: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," with fourth-generation resident, County Director and Agriculture Agent for Colorado State University Extension, Todd Hagenbuch.

    Aug. 9: “King & Perry Family History,” history and stories from one of Routt County’s oldest families, shared by Chuck and Marissa Perry.

    Aug. 16: “Days Gone By.” Colorful local stories shared by beloved long-time local, Johnny Walker.

    Aug. 23: “Reflections on a Community: 1966-2024,” with local resident and retired educator Bud Romberg.

    Aug. 30: “Standing Up For Our Old Buildings: A How–To On Getting Involved.” Learn Historic Preservation’s role in our community, how to become an advocate, and how historic buildings can be reused in exciting new ways.
