At the age of 14, Jake Shimabukuro realized that he was doing something unique with the ukulele. His unmatched approach to the four-stringed instrument started at the age of four. He learned the basics from his mother then developed his craft by studying under ukulele masters. In 2005, his career was launched when a video of him playing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” went viral. Since then, his records have topped the Billboard charts and he’s played such prestigious venues as the Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, and the Sydney Opera House.
