    Join Detective Sergeant Sam Silva and Detective Lisa Eifling for a hands-on session designed to help you confidently navigate tense or emotional interactions in the workplace. You’ll learn practical techniques rooted in real-world experience – how to stay calm under pressure, set the tone for respectful communication, and defuse situations.

    Through engaging examples and discussion, participants will:

    • Understand the psychology behind escalation and how to recognize early warning signs
    • Practice verbal and non-verbal communication strategies that promote calm and trust
    • Explore conflict management styles and how to adapt your approach
    • Learn how to safely handle scenarios involving angry, intoxicated, or distressed individuals
    • Gain insight into when and how to involve law enforcement or additional support

    Whether you work with the public or manage a team, this session will equip you with tools to maintain safety, composure, and empathy – turning potential conflicts into opportunities for connection and resolution.
