  • Overview

    Brass Through the Ages
From Renaissance masters to Bach, Debussy, Britten, and Böhme
Journey through five centuries of brass music in a program that highlights the ensemble’s remarkable versatility and expressive range. Renaissance dances, Bach’s Contrapunctus I, Debussy’s Trois Chansons, and works by Ewald, Britten, and Böhme reveal how composers across eras have shaped the brass family’s distinctive voice. Michael Sachs leads an all-star brass ensemble of principal players from the New York Philharmonic, St. Louis Symphony, San Francisco Ballet and Opera Orchestra, and the American Brass Quintet in a vibrant, richly textured performance.
