COVID-19 Resources | Utilities

Contact your utility providers ASAP if you are unable to pay your bill. Most are working with customers however you have to be proactive and reach out to determine a payment plan. Specific details on utility providers below.


Mt. Werner Water

Mt. Werner Water has made adjustments for both residential and commercial customers due to COVID-19.

  • Contact the office (970-879-2424) to set up a 3-month payment plan with the first 1/3 of the payment due July 10 and the 2 subsequent payments due August 10 and September 10, respectively.
  • If full payment is not received by September 10, the District will suspend its normal practice of discontinuing water service (and keep the water on) and ask the customer to work directly with General Manager, Frank Alfone, to determine a plan to pay the fees on a case-by-case basis.
City of Steamboat Springs

The City of Steamboat Springs understands the current challenges locals are facing. The City Utilities Department is encouraging anyone having trouble paying their water bill to call them and they will work with you directly. 970-871-8204 

Internet Service Providers 

Visionary Broadband

Visionary Broadband took the Keep Americans Connected Pledge and promised to not terminate service to any business or residential customers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak through May 11. Visionary Broadband is assisting schools by providing internet to displaced students and insuring adequate bandwidth for healthcare facilities. 


Comcast paused all disconnects and waived late fees.  Internet Essentials, their low-income broadband service, offered 60-day free access with speeds bumped from 10/1 (FCC mandated speeds) to 25/3 with data caps waived for all customers. Click here for more information.


CenturyLink took the Keep Americans Connected Pledge and committed to waive late fees and to not terminate service to any residential or small business customers due to financial circumstances associated with COVID-19. They suspended data usage limits for consumer customers during this time period. Click here for more information.

Yampa Valley Electric Association

YVEA is willing to put members on payment plans. Those interested must reach out to put a plan in place.YVEA has temporarily suspended non-payment disconnects.
