Prior to joining Steamboat Sotheby's International Realty in 2007, Barkley had nine years of technical experience as a structural engineer, working on high-end residential and commercial projects throughout the Yampa Valley. "My background has given me in-depth understanding of building design and land development, a practical perspective to benefit my real estate clients." A dedicated athlete, Barkley was a member of the U.S. Ski Team for moguls and then became an accomplished pro level cyclist. Locally, he is a six-time overall season champion of Steamboat's mountain bike race series and an ongoing mentor to community athletes. Barkley is a fifth generation Colorado native, engineering graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Steamboat Springs resident since 1998. He and his wife Megan welcomed their first child, Ryder, in 2012 and are looking forward to raising their family in this wonderful community. His appreciation of the people and lifestyle of Steamboat led him into the real estate business where he is able to commit all of his talents to helping his clients make great real estate investments.
