When it comes to fundraisers that help support the community, Steamboat Springs is all about sharing the love.

This Valentine’s Day weekend offers a bevy of fundraisers to benefit local organizations, with family-friendly events that are open to locals and visitors alike.

From a Nordic ski “fun-raiser” featuring Olympic medalist Todd Lodwick to a swingin’ dance benefit for the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, opportunities for a little generosity and a lot of fun are in no short supply. Here’s a sampling of this weekend’s benefit events:

Steamboat Springs Montessori Fundraiser, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11: Featuring live music, heavy appetizers and a wine selection, this event at the Barn Village Pool House benefits the Steamboat Springs Montessori Expansion Fund. For more information, call (970) 879-8108.

Steamboat Symphony Winter Soiree, 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12: The Steamboat Swings Big Band provides the entertainment for this celebration and benefit for the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. The Todd Lodwick Home Ranch Challenge Fun-Raiser, 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 13: Try to beat Todd’s time in this mass 3K challenge at The Home Ranch in North Routt County. Careful now – Todd’s an Olympic silver medalist and two-time Nordic world champion. The suggested minimum donation is $20, and prize tickets are going for $10; proceeds will benefit the Steamboat Nordic Council. Registration is required.
