Literally the snow is falling like I have never seen before, it is unbelievable. My car had over a foot of fresh powder on it this morning (which made for quite a workout with my scraper and gloves). The mountain is reporting that 13” have fallen in the past 24 hours and I believe it. It feels like more. Now my question is why am I not up there?

If you are in Steamboat this weekend a fun thing to check out is tonight’s First Friday Art Walk. It is an art walk that takes you to 17 different locations all around town including galleries, studios, museums, restaurants and businesses checking out local artist’s work. The goal of a First Friday event is not to give more exposure to established artists, or to drum up business, or to sip wine and philosophize about what defines art. The goal is to put new work on the walls on a regular basis and get the community excited about that in itself. The February First Friday Art Walk is tonight, going from 5-8 pm. If you head out for this event remember the weather, wear good snow boots, gloves, hat and get excited to see some of the communities local artist’s work.
