Well, the news we all feared became a reality yesterday. Scholarship and Opening Day for Steamboat’s 2007/2008 winter ski season have been rescheduled for Friday, November 30, 2007. The news does not come as a huge surprise due to the warm fall weather and the lack of precipitation in the recent days and weeks here in the Yampa Valley.

As disappointing as this news may seem, there is nothing that can be done. We will all just need to wait patiently for the temperatures to get cooler so the mountain is able to make snow or for Mother Nature brings us a good sized storm. All of Colorado is experiencing less snow so far this year. It is nice to know that Steamboat is not alone in this hard situation. Here are a few helpful websites to check this weekend if you are trying to find out more information on the snow forecast.
