So, you have been to Steamboat before but have you been fishing? The epic amount of rain that we received over the course of this spring and summer has made for unbelievable fishing conditions in late summer and fall. The local Fletcher Pond is at its prime and is stocked with Rainbow Trout, perfect for kids and families. Small worms or bait is recommended with a light line. Every day I walk along the Yampa River watching fly fisherman; they look so peaceful as they cast their lines in waiting. Steamboat Lake and Stagecoach Reservoir are also reporting great fishing, but it’s recommended to go early or late in the day. Finally, all High Country Lake fishing is reporting good conditions so grab your pole and a partner and enjoy! For more information on fishing businesses in Steamboat, click here.
