Sometimes it can be funny watching how Mother Nature works.  For example, the Steamboat Ski Area is now closed and the snow continues to fly. Seems like a small thing to take note of, but there are plenty of things to do around Steamboat Springs when there is snow this time of year. Shoulder season, or "mud season" as we like to call it, are the months in between the mountain closing and spring. There is usually a lot of runoff and mud around town from all the melting. Looking for great ways to spend your time outdoors? If the snow is sill on the ground try a snowshoe hike up Spring Creek Trail or if you are wearing the right gear get set for a hike (it might be muddy though!)
