There are so many things to do in Steamboat beside snow sports, dinning at great restaurants and taking advantage of the great shopping. For example Steamboat Springs has a thriving arts community with many galleries, art shops and arts and craft stores; many display local artists. Tonight come celebrate local art, local business and the creation of “Chamber Legacy,” the magnificent statue being built by local artist Sandra Graves in commemoration of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association’s 100 years of service to the community.

“Chamber Legacy,” a full size, life-like statue of three young children playing on a see-saw, each representing a piece of Steamboat Springs’s traditional heritage – our community legacies of mining, ranching and skiing. Please join us this Wednesday, February 20th from 5-7pm at the Artists’ Gallery of Steamboat for the first of three Meet the Artists events, where participants will be able to see Graves’ progress up close and personal. Come to check out the work, enjoy the gallery and make a donation to this community project.

Mark your calendar. Meet the Artist event for Sandra Graves and the “Chamber Legacy” statue will be February 20th from 5 -7 pm at the Artists’ Gallery of Steamboat located at 1009 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs.
