Hello, I’m PJ Wharton, President of Yampa Valley Bank, a proud presenting sponsor of the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks in Steamboat Springs.

A sure sign of Independence Day in Steamboat Springs is the annual Fourth of July Parade. There isn’t a more all-American setting than a parade down Lincoln Avenue complete with horses, fire trucks, extravagant floats, and tons of candy for the kids. Not to mention, the world famous Routt Beer Floats and live brass band at the Tread of Pioneers Museum Block Party that immediately follows the parade.

In the afternoon on the 4th of July, the whole family will enjoy summer ski jumping at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Jumpin’ and Jammin’ competition at Howelsen Hill featuring some of the best Nordic jumpers in the world. Taste local brews, grab a gyro, and enjoy the sunshine while watching these incredible athletes soar through the air. For many families, July 4th wouldn’t be complete without attending the Pro Rodeo Series at Brent Romick Arena as the sun sets over the Yampa Valley. Lastly, the highlight for so many of us, we finish this perfect holiday with one of the largest fireworks displays in North America, brought to us courtesy of the Borden family’s pyrotechnic army. It just doesn’t get any better than this!

Whatever you decide to do on this action packed day, it will be an unforgettable memory of our beloved Western town.

Yampa Valley Bank is thankful for our freedom and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  The Fourth of July in Steamboat Springs is a genuine hometown event and Yampa Valley Bank is Genuine Hometown Banking.  As proud sponsors of the parade and fireworks we encourage you to join us for this wonderful celebration.  Hope to you soon!
