As I gear up to head outside for a ride on my bicycle I can’t help but be thankful for the extended fall that we are experiencing.  When “winter” hit in early October, I was not excited. I was still getting out on my bike but it was not a very enjoyable time for riding. It seemed like ages before the mountain would open for skiing and I just hadn’t gotten enough riding in to satisfy my cravings.

However, as I head out on my bike today without even having to grab my gloves and heavy jacket, I have to say that I am ready for winter now. I will enjoy these last days of dry, semi-warm, sun drenched riding but as soon as the snow flies my attitude will shift and I will be dreaming of waist deep powder.  Luckily, thanks to the long fall, I won’t have to dream long before it is a reality.
