After all the anticipation, the delays and the worrying if it will ever snow this winter in Steamboat; the snow is here! Whether you call it the white stuff, powder or just snow, it has arrived and just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation reported nine new inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Nine new inches of snow with many more to come. Remember to be careful driving on the slick roads, especially with all the travelers out on the holiday weekend.

What’s going on around Steamboat Springs this weekend? Thursday, November 22nd is turkey day and the Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 1-5 pm at Holy Names Catholic Church. This United Way annual event is made possible by food donations from the community and is a free event. On Friday, November 23rd come to the Routt County Courthouse Lawn for “Light Up the Night” starting at 6 pm with the lighting of the community Christmas tree.
