But there’s more! Howelsen Hill is Colorado’s oldest continuously operated ski area, since 1915 and is a local favorite. Famous for its Olympic history and heritage, Howelsen Hill is conveniently located in downtown Steamboat Springs. This season, Howelsen Hill offers free skiing on Sundays with reservations required. Steamboat Powdercats has been offering snowcat and human-powered backcountry skiing and snowboarding tours since 1983. They promise to take you to places of powder-filled dreams on Buffalo Pass.
