Ski Jumping Extravaganza
The Ski Jumping Extravaganza begins on Thursday with competitions through Saturday. Come celebrate the Fourth of July at the annual Jumpin’ & Jammin’ Competition and Community Party following the downtown Fourth of July parade on Saturday; head to Howelsen Hill to watch members of the US Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping National Teams as well as Gelunde jumpers on alpine skis soar off the HS75 meter jump!
Sixty of the nation’s best athletes will compete in this fun event, including a roller-ski race on Lincoln Avenue before the parade and jumping on the plastic-covered Nordic Jumps afterwards!
Spectators are invited to enjoy food and drink provided by local vendors (including BBQ, burgers and brats, Mexican, and brew), as well as listen to music and participate in the Calcutta and Golf Ball Drop on Saturday during the main jumping event. This is a FREE EVENT.
