Are you are a true Steamboat Springs local? Is the 1989 Vintage Auto Race poster part of your collection? Do you have the 1995 Fall Foliage/Brewfest poster hanging up in your recreation room? Now is the time to stock up on Signature Event merchandise. Join the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Friday through Sunday, August 29-31 on the lawn of the Routt County Courthouse from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. as they open the event vault and share its past with shoppers during the Labor Day Weekend Celebration. The signature events produced by the Chamber for more than 25 years have spanned a very wide spectrum including the Vintage Auto Race and Concours d’Elegance, Motorcycle Week, Fall Foliage and the original BrewFest, as well as events that have stood the test of time including the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Steamboat Marathon and Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, formerly Rainbow Weekend. Posters and merchandise from these events are colorful, historic and most of all they are a glimpse into Steamboat’s rich event history. Much of the artwork for these items was created by local artists and helps us remember the variety and diversity of events from year to year; events that truly represent Steamboat in the Summertime. Kara Givnish, Special Event and Sponsorship Director for the Chamber urges shoppers to come downtown Labor Day Weekend. “This is your last chance to purchase vintage merchandise from all of our great summer events, some of which are no longer around.” As part of the “Come Sale Away” sidewalk sale, past event posters, t-shirts, visors,
cool-max shirts, running attire, pins and polo shirts will be on sale at heavily discounted prices. This is a rare opportunity to stock up on colorful merchandise at great prices, reminisce about the past and nab the poster or t-shirt that might be missing from your collection. Incredibly priced merchandise will include $1 T-shirts, $5 hats and visors and kid’s wear for only a buck. Sandy Evans-Hall, Executive Vice President at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association describes the “Come Sale Away” sidewalk sale as an event that, “Showcases the diversity of shopping and activities in our town as well as the variety of stores. We are glad the Chamber is able to participate.”
