  • Overview

The call of family is what brought me to Steamboat Springs in 1986, after graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in Political Science. While at A&M, my parents moved to Steamboat to be closer to my brother who was attending Whiteman School at the time. It wasn't long and I decided to follow in my mother's footsteps and sell real estate. In 1992, while living in Littleton, CO, I earned my sales license. I went to work for Coldwell Banker Residential and within 3 months was named to the Multi-Million Dollar Circle, a prestigious group of agents who sold over $2 million or more in residential sales. I quickly realized that I could be doing the same thing in a place where I really wanted to live and in 1993, after only 8 months with Coldwell Banker, I began working at Prudential Trimontane Real Estate in Steamboat Springs, where my great success continued. With a growing family imminent, I and my mother decided to join together to open a small boutique real estate company called Steamboat Mountain Properties in the fall of 1995. We focused on personalized real estate services, and all of our business came from friends and past clients. It is said that the best compliment a client can pay a Realtor is to refer their friends and family to you. Gratefully, the company was a huge success. In a quest to constantly better myself, I decided to join Steamboat Sotheby's. I am presently the Managing Broker. My focus continues to be providing the best possible service to my customers and ensuring that they will find my service worthy enough to send referrals my way. In addition to the sales part of my career, I was named Broker of the Year in 2006. I have earned my Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) designation as well as my Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, (MRE) Masters of Real Estate, ePro and Ecobroker. I am working on my ABR, Accredited Buyer's Representative, as well as (CRB) Council of Real Estate Managing Brokers. In an effort to give back to the real estate community that has been so generous to me, I have been very active on the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors as well as the Colorado Association of Realtors. In addition to many years as a director for both Boards of Directors, I have served locally as the President of the Steamboat Board in 1999 and 2000, Professional Standards Chair, Affiliate Relations Chair, Education Chair, MLS Committee Chair, CARHOF Chair, Orientation Co-Chair, PSF Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, and Scholarship Committee member. In 2001, I received the Realtor of the Year Award. At the state level, I was Mountain District Vice President in 2003 and have served on the State Professional Standards Committee, Technology Committee, MLS Committee, Public Relations Committee, CARHOF Board of Directors, PSF Committee, State Legislative Committee, Credentials Committee, Small Board Forum Chair, and am presently VP of Education for the second year. I am married to my husband of nearly 25 years, Barry, and have 3 children - Kelly, Megan and Tucker. In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, reading, traveling, cooking, hiking and swimming.
