  • About Us

In the summer, one of Steamboat's most exciting attractions is The Howler Alpine Slide. There's no doubt this exciting ride is fun for the entire family.

The Alpine Slide offers a chairlift to the top of historic Howelsen Hill. Using a sled provided to you at the top of the lift, you are in control of your exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400 foot track through the bends and curves of the natural landscape of beautiful Howelsen Hill.
  • Directions

Turn off Lincoln Ave in downtown Steamboat Springs onto 5th Street to cross the Yampa River. Turn right after the river and railroad tracks on Howelsen Parkway. Turn left at the stop sign. Purchase your tokens and sign a liability release waiver at the Yurt (the round tent building), then you're ready to ride the lift up the mountain.
Go as fast or as slow as you want. This is a ride you control!
